Meet The CGC Staff

emily_thomas

Emily Thomas, Assistant Dean for The Citadel Graduate College, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Psychology from Virginia Tech and her Master of Arts in Education and Human Development in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University. Prior to joining The Citadel, she worked at The George Washington University for several years, serving as an Admissions Counselor for the Graduate School of Education and the Assistant Director of Admissions for the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, M.D. program.

Alex Heuertz, Sr. Assistant Director of Enrollment Management for The Citadel Graduate College, earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Banking Institutions from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her Master in Business Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management from The University of Tampa. Before joining The Citadel Graduate College team, she worked as a Child Advocate at the Children's Advocacy Center in Tampa, Florida.

Caroline Schlatt, Assistant Director of Enrollment Management for The Citadel Graduate College, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Marshall University. Before joining The Citadel, she worked as a Regional Statewide Campus Director at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. For almost 11 years, she coordinated the West Virginia Ovarian Cancer Initiative through a partnership with Marshall University and the West Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Program.

 Molly McLean, Assistant Director of Enrollment Management for The Citadel Graduate College, earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from Ohio University and her Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Miami University of Ohio.  Before joining The Citadel Graduate College team, she worked at The College of Charleston for eight years as an Academic Advisor and Student Services Coordinator.

Carl Hill, Assistant Director of Enrollment Management for The Citadel Graduate College, earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and English and a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education and Student Personnel Services from The University of Mississippi. Prior to joining the CGC team, Carl worked as the Project Coordinator with The University of Mississippi's Center for Intelligence & Security Studies, an Intelligence Community Center of Academic Excellence, and as an Admission Specialist in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Shelby Achilles, Graduate Assistant for The Citadel Graduate College, received her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences with a specialization in Early Intervention and minor in Psychology in 2013 from Winthrop University. Shelby is currently pursuing a master's degree in the Secondary Counselor Education program at The Citadel.
